happy hump day / what i ate wednesday


well, that just motivated me to run.

i didn’t run today, however.
i did the usual wednesday thang & went to boot camp at 6:00 a.m. then followed with practicing for my step aerobics class.
suzi wasn’t there today. phew. but it was still super intense. heart rate shot up.

warm up: run 3 laps

we did 4 sets of workouts today. the first two we did 3 rounds and the last 2 “partner sets” were done twice. followed by core work.

#1: run 2 laps
plank 30 sec.
renegade rows (20 total)
15 pushups
15 bicep curl into overhead press

3x

#2: 15 kettlebell swings (i had a 25 lb)
walking lunges with kettlebell overhead (20 yards)
run 1 lap with kettlebell overhead (this seemed dangerous with 25 lb so i grabbed an 8 lb dumbbell)
3x

partner work:
1 person hold plank while the other person does monster band walks forward and backwards 100 yards (kills your glutes)
we did this once
run 1 lap

resistance band partner pulls (partner runs with resistance band around waist while the other person is holding them back. forward and backwards 40 yards) 2x with lap run in between

core: 8lb med ball jack knifes (20 each leg), 10 with both legs, 15 toe touches, 10 with both legs, 20 single  jackknifes

on to the food, because that’s more important to me anyway. 🙂
this is my first ever “what i ate wednesday” post! it’s actually what i ate tuesday 😀

breakfast: 1/2 cup oats cooked in 1/2 cup coconut milk + 1/2 cup water, 1/2 banana whipped in,  1 tsp chia seeds, topped with cinnamon, 1 tbsp natural pb, & drizzle of honey
lunch: stuffed green pepper with chickpeas, diced tomatoes, zucchini, baby bella mushrooms and melted muenster cheese! sweet potato on the side sprinkled with cinnamon
snack: 1 cup greek plain yogurt with 2/3 cup kashi go lean and a juicy peach chopped in
dinner: strawberry protein shake made with 1 scoop vanilla protein, 8 medium strawberries, 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk, pinch of guar gum
i also had unpictured spoonfuls of pb and handfuls of kashi go lean. hah

today’s breakfast was super filling for some reason. 1/2 cup greek yogurt with 1 cup strawberries, 1/2 tsp chia seeds and 2 vans lite waffles topped with “protein frosting.” protein frosting was made with 1 tbsp natural drippy pb, 1/4 scoop vanilla protein, and coconut milk. chia seeds sprinkled for fun.
and i just ate an apple.

    I’m dying for you lunch! ohmygosh the munster cheese with the stuffed pepper is just genius! =) yum!

    I just want to tell you that everything you ate today looks delicious!! Especially the yogurt mess snack. Just what I love!!
    I really also liked that running video. It certainly makes me want to run!!
