whole30. insanity. tortilla pizza.

happy saturday! i’m having a fabulous one. i’m making up for friday because i didn’t have such a great day yesterday. i didn’t work out (which made everything feel much worse, i binged on junk, and i pretty much slept through an amazing day.)
but i woke up ready to conquer my weekend and feel better. πŸ™‚

after opening up the gym and working for 4 hours, i did an awesome workout. i pulled out of my binder an old bootcamp workout that made me almost throw up the first time i did it. HA. it was actually the very first workout we did from my second 8 week session. today i felt 100x stronger when doing it and still felt like i got a great workout. here it is:

there are 3 circuits of 3 exercises. Do each exercise 10 times before moving on to the next and then repeat by doing each exercise 9 times, 8 times, etc..until you reach 1
Between each circuit there is cardio like “run 6 laps” before moving onto the next circuit.


goblet squat (i used a 10lb dumbbell)
tricep dips

run 6 laps

prisoner lunges (lunges with hands over head) (each leg)
spider planks (each leg)

6 sets of stairs

seal jacks
renegade rows (each arm)

3 sets of stairs
run 3 laps

so when you start, you will do 10 goblet squats, 10 pushups, 10 tricep dips, 9 goblet squats, 9 pushups, 9 tricep dips….etc… then run 6 laps and do 10 burpees, 10 prisoner lunges, 10 spider planks, etc…


and because i’m insane…i tried the fit test for insanity! for the first time. πŸ™‚ i’m not going to follow the program right now, i just wanted to see how well i could do. and i did pretty damn good! here’s my results…

Switch kicks: 94
Power jacks: 47
Power knees: 88
Power jumps: 30
Globe jumps: 9
Suicide jumps: 14
Pushup jacks: 19
Oblique crunch: 55

something i am going to start, however, is the whole30 program. jenna over at http://www.paleo-project.com is challenging a few of us to do it and is going to be giving us tips! the challenge for everyone starts july 11th (monday). I really really want to do this, but it sucks because i just went grocery shopping and have a bunch of foods that aren’t recommended to eat during the 30 days. So i may have to start a week late. But I’m all for it. πŸ˜€

Here’s something i’ve been eating for lunch every single day this week. Can’t get enough. Until I run out of tortillas and refuse to buy more because of the whole30…

Tortilla Pizza – the possibilities are endless!

1 whole wheat tortilla (i use la tortilla factory brand)
1/4 cup no salt added tomato sauce (i used ragu no sugar pasta sauce!)
lots of sliced veggies of choice! (i used mushrooms, zucchini, green peppers)
about 1.5 cups of spinach (will wilt in the oven)
3 oz chicken breast
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese

preheat oven to 350 degrees. spray cooking sheet or line with aluminum foil. place tortilla on sheet, spread sauce on tortilla, top with veggies and cheese. bake in oven for about 10 minutes. enjoy!

i forgot that i heated my chicken up in the microwave and left it in there after i made the pizza. whoops. πŸ™‚
