>as a healthy food blog reader, i have been wanting to try oiaj for so long. [oats in a jar]. you put your cooked oatmeal with all your delicious add-ins in a almost empty peanut butter jar. delish.

the oatmeal recipe is called “whipped banana oats” adapted from kath eats real food

Whipped Banana Oatmeal

* 1/3 cup old fashioned oats
* 1/3 cup 1% or skim or soy milk
* 1/2 cup water
* 1/2 a banana, sliced
* 1 tbsp chia seeds (they give the best fluffy texture!)
* Pinch of kosher salt
* Vanilla, stirred in at end

For two servings, start by combining rolled oats, water, and milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Slice a banana into VERY thin pieces, leaving just a few bigger chunks. Walk away for a few minutes while the oatmeal heats. Once it begins to steam or bubble, stir vigorously at times to “whip” the banana into the oats. The oats will take about 5 minutes on medium heat from start to finish to fully absorb the liquid. They’re done when they reach your desired consistency!

the only thing i added was cinnamon. 😀





breakfast of champions. and good fuel before i head to the gym to do a 3-2-1 fit class, incline work out on the treadmill, kettlebells, and a t-n-t class. yep, another 3 hour day at the gym. i love working out far too much. haha.

the other night nikki, cathy, and i went out for sushi. and im dumb and forgot to take lots of pictures. i only took a few.
i had edamame, volcano roll, and a couple pieces of nikki’s iowa city roll. yum.




after that i went over to my mom’s and we did jillian michael’s six weeks to six pack abs video. i really really liked it. i know a lot of people don’t like jillian because she’s everywhere and they don’t think she’s a “real” trainer. but i love her. she is what has motivated me more than anything these last few years. and she does exactly what i want to do. use psychology to understand why people use food to cope with their problems and how to re-train their brain to get fit and healthy.
yes, i don’t agree with her pill endorsements and i haven’t done much research in that, but i think that’s just the publicity kicking in.

im watching mtv’s “i used to be fat” right now. it really makes me sad. these are the people i want to help. it makes me so sad that most americans are just becoming so lazy and ruining their health.
